DMR, D-STAR, YSF (and more)

The latest tab in SDRCrew: reception of amateur digital voice - DMR, D-STAR, YSF/System Fusion, plus P25, NXDN, M17, EDACS, ProVoice, with automatic protocol detection: you do not need to know in advance what a repeater is transmitting, the app takes care of it.

What is inside

A "Repeater (Italy)" drop-down with 687 national digital repeaters ready to use - 296 DMR, 236 Fusion, 154 D-STAR - just pick one and the frequency is set for you.

When a DMR radio ID arrives, the app resolves it on the fly into callsign, city and country, by checking it against a directory of over 313,000 users (refreshed every 24 hours). No more meaningless 6-7 digit numbers in the table.

A real-time event table that keeps track of who is transmitting and on which repeater.

And it works great: tested live on a real repeater, it decodes audio and calls perfectly - repeater lock, audio streaming, callsign lookup, everything runs smoothly from the first listen.

Sto chiudendo gli ultimi dettagli di SDRCrew 2.0, la più grossa revisione da quando è nato il programma. Non c'è ancora una data precisa: esce quando l'ho provato abbastanza da fidarmi. Intanto, ecco cosa troverete. NUOVA INTERFACCIA - Menu laterale con ricerca e categorie (Ricezione, Aviazione e mare, Dati e digitale, Musica e broadcasting) che si compattano con una freccetta. - Frequenza grande in arancione e S-meter in testa a tutte le schede di ricezione. - Tutte le card a destra (Sorgente, Memorie, Registrazion e IQ...) si possono chiudere, e il programma ricorda come le avete lasciate. - Tema scuro, chiaro oppure "come Windows", cambiato al volo dalle impostazioni. - Mappe più grandi su ADS-B e AIS. SDRCrew 1.0.3 — more solid FT2 decoding

An update on the app's "engine" side: two external decoders have been updated to the latest versions. 📡 Digital decoding (FT8/FT4/FT2) Until now FT2 decoding relied on an internal trick (it reused the FT4 command with different timing). From this version the engine I use has changed: now FT2 has a dedicated, native command, which makes it more stable and reliable. FT8 and FT4 remain unchanged - I have already tested them live and they keep working as before. 📻 Digital voice (DMR/D-STAR/Fusion) The digital voice decoder has been updated as well: native support for Airspy R2/Mini dongles, faster recovery of DMR control channels when the signal drops, and various refinements. Shortwave in SDRCrew: HF tuning + know what you will hear

Shortwave (2.3-26.1 MHz) is probably the most fascinating part of the radio spectrum - and the hardest to explore "at random": signals that bounce off the ionosphere and arrive from thousands of kilometres away, but with times and frequencies that change season by season. Turning the knob hoping to find something worked in the 1980s. Today we can do better. What the tab does Full HF reception (2.3-26.1 MHz), with direct sampling enabled by default: below about 24-28 MHz many RTL-SDR dongles receive nothing without it, since shortwave is below the classic tuner's limit. A real schedule, not a static list: almost 8,000 broadcast transmissions catalogued (source EiBi, updated each broadcast season), with station, language, target area and time. Search by station name or language, and an "on air now" filter that compares the current UTC time with the schedule - no more wasted attempts on a station that perhaps only broadcasts at night.
