RTL 433/868 Monitor 1.2.0: APRS arrives, with a map

A new version of RTL 433/868 Monitor, and this time it goes beyond 433 and 868 MHz: there is a tab for APRS, the system radio amateurs use to transmit position and messages on VHF.

APRS (new)

• Receive APRS packets with the same RTL-SDR dongle, on 144.800 MHz in Europe (presets also for North America, Australia, Japan, Brazil, New Zealand and for the ISS)

• List of the stations heard and of the latest packets: positions, messages, objects, repeaters, weather stations, iGates

• OpenStreetMap map with the stations, click a station for details

• I tested it live with the real APRS traffic of my area: stations, objects, repeaters and weather are read correctly

LoRa (experimental)

• 13 known frequency plans instead of 3: LoRaWAN Europe 868 and 433, US 915, Australia 915, Asia 923, Korea 920, India 865, China 470, Meshtastic and LoRa-APRS

• Automatic scanning of all bands, with the listening time per band adjustable from 1 to 120 minutes

• It remains experimental: live LoRa reception is not yet confirmed

Good to know: the dongle is used by only one module at a time (sensors, LoRa or APRS) and APRS needs an antenna suited to the 2 meter band.

Requirements: Windows 10 or 11, an RTL-SDR dongle with the WinUSB driver (Zadig). If Windows warns that the installer is not signed, choose "More info" and then "Run anyway".
